Brug Miekoeksebrug, Heerdijk (NL)

The Miekoeksebrug in Heersdijk is located over the Wilhelminakanaal in Oirschot. While shipping was partially blocked during maintenance work, the bridge was completely closed for road traffic. With this project, we were responsible for blasting and overcoating the steel construction.

As pre-treatment, we blasted rust spots to a minimum cleanliness of Sa 2.5, while the entire construction was blasted to obtain the desired roughness. Bare steel was provided with two layers of primer, after which the entire construction has been overcoated twice.

Partly thanks to the good weather conditions, we were able to run a week ahead of schedule! And thanks to the maintenance, the lifespan of the steel construction has been extended significantly.
